Patients with this condition therefore have eyes looking in both directions. It normally develops at a young age, and parents must watch for symptoms like:

  • The child rub either or both of the eyes quiet frequently
  • The child squints frequently even with glasses
  • The child closes one eye in order to visualize better
  • The child tilts his head when trying to see something

Symptoms and Signs of Glaucoma

Glaucoma is one of the most dangerous medical disorders, and occurs due to high intraocular pressure within the eyeball leading to damage within the optic nerve. Glaucoma is highly dangerous due to its unpredictability and failure of diagnosis on time. Therefore, one at risk of glaucoma must be on the lookout for symptoms like:

  • Severe eye pain suddenly takes over visual area
  • Headaches, rainbow halos, eye redness, vomiting or nausea, all lead to acute glaucoma
  • Cloudy or teary eyes in children, enlarged corneas and extra sensitivity to light all lead are symptoms of congenital glaucoma

Symptoms and Signs of Age-Related Macular Degeneration:

It is a substantial disorder of the eye that takes place in the macula, or the center point of the retina. The macula is responsible for our sharp vision which we employ while driving, reading or any other activity that requires acute vision. The symptoms that can aid in the diagnosis of this disorder include:

  • Distorted vision so that even the straight lines look crooked
  • Slow yet pain free loss of central vision
  • Development of blank spots in the central vision
